Last Day of Seuss!

Well today wasn't as exciting as I had planned! I woke up with the WORST headache and it's still here!! I'm starting to feel a little better but I still can't wait for bed!

We read the Sneetches today! I love it! We also have a cartoon of it that we watched! It has a good message about not judging others and being OK with yourself! I loved it! I made the boys star-belly sneetch shirts! I know the shirts are supposed to be yellow, but I'm trying to do with what I have and the boys loved them!

Here's M's shirt! You couldn't see it in the pic above because all of the hugs he was giving his brother!

And here is my set of Spring blocks!! I love them too! Not too bad for only spending about $1.50, eh?

What a fun week we had!! I really enjoyed showing the boys the wacky world of Dr. Seuss! I noticed while we were at the library last week that there were just as many Eric Carle books as their were Seuss!! Well almost! So we are going to work with Carle books this week! I love the library! Looking forward to our trip in the morning!

Green Eggs and Ham

In honor of our all time favorite Dr. Seuss book, Green Eggs and Ham, we made catepillars from an EGG carton! I cut the carton in half and then each side in half again. They painted them and then added glitter. I added the antenna and button eyeballs with hot glue and wah-lah! Catepillars!!

Below is a pic of M painting his catepillars. For some reason they only painted the tops! I had to tell them it was ok to paint the sides! They are funny guys!

Here is Little A painting his little heart out! He is also in potty training mode, FINALLY! He did well this morning, but isn't doing as hot this evening! I guess it's a work in progress!

Here are the finished products! I think they are adorable!! My kids make my heart sing!! Love them to pieces!
I've been working on my Spring blocks and hopefully will have them to show tomorrow! There is only 1 good side to my hubby working evenings: I can do crafty things for 3 WHOLE HOURS! =)

Feeling Lucky??

For Dr. Seuss day today, we painted a Hop On Pop picture and we will read the book tonight! It's one we already own and we love it! It will be a fun reason to read it again!

Below is a pic of M painting his picture, even though his paper towel is covering it!

There is Little A doing his FAVORITE activity in the world! He would paint until his hands fell off!!
Well, since I am BEYOND ready for spring and we had an awesome thunderstorm last night, I decided to bring a little "green" to our home with a cool LUCKY sign!! My wonderful hubby cut a bunch of 2x4's up for me. He cut them 5,6 and 7 inches in length. After a quick sanding, I painted them the two green colors below. Then I allowed it to dry.

Then, I printed out the word lucky on my computer, made some "stencils" and traced the letters onto the blocks. I also found a cute shamrock shape and did the same. I then very slowly painted the letters and the shamrocks on the blocks. I LOVE THEM and I love the way they look on my shelf!!

I am so excited for spring and for the other blocks I will be making for Easter and Spring and memorial day and...well you get the picture!! I am a holiday and birthday FANATIC!!!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

One fish, two fish...and a Birthday too!!

Our Seuss book for the day is "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" which is one of MY favorite Seuss books!! The kids loved it!! Our activity for today was fish bowls! I found the images, which are exactly like the book cover, from googling it! Then I free-handed a fish bowl shape from blue cardstock and cut the middle out. I taped plastic wrap to the back of the opening. Then I cut the same bowl shape from white paper and let them color it. Then we glued our fish onto the white paper and then decorated with glitter(my least favorite thing to use!) and let it dry. Finally, we put the blue bowl on top of the white with tape and WAH-LAH! A fish bowl! It was super fun to do and I highly recommend it!!

On to the next topic of the day and the most important: It's Little A's 3rd birthday!! I can't believe it!! The pic below is from the day we came home from the hospital! He had on a billy band for jaundice, he had a heart murmur and he kept failing his hearing tests! I was so sad for him! Now he is in tip-top shape!

Below is a pic from his first birthday party! He was a little freaked out but once he got a cupcake in him, he mellowed out! =)

This is from his 2nd birthday, which we had a month late because we were moving!! It was fun! He was SSOOO sick though! He just coasted through the day!

Here he is today, a THREE year old!!! I can't believe how much he has blessed our lives!! I am grateful daily to be his mommy!!!

Tomorrow is his party and I am very excited!! I love this little boy and I hope he has the best day EVER!!

P.S. I realized my post from yesterday looks almost EXACTLY like a post from Serving Pink Lemonade! That wasn't my intention but it's an AMAZING blog! Check it out at www.servingpinklemonade.blogspot.com !
Have a great day!

Dr. Seuss Week!!

I am so excited to celebrate Dr. Seuss birthday! It's next Wednesday, March 2. We decided we would start today and celebrate for the entire week!

First on the agenda: Hit the library! And boy, did we hit it! We took almost all of the Seuss books they had! We decided to stop at 8, I think! We figured we could leave a couple for everyone else!

We've decided to read a book each day and do an activity. Today, we read " A Cat in the Hat" and made a hat. This is a pic of Little A with his hat and coloring page that I found at www.seussville.com. Great ideas there!

Here's a pic of M with his hat and coloring page! He's always willing to give mom a smile! =)

Here's a pic of both of the boys! I love them and hope they enjoy Seuss week! It's going to be a wacky week!

On a more serious note: Little A is turning 3 tomorrow!! Saturday is his Toy Story party! To infinity and beyond!!
