One fish, two fish...and a Birthday too!!

Our Seuss book for the day is "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" which is one of MY favorite Seuss books!! The kids loved it!! Our activity for today was fish bowls! I found the images, which are exactly like the book cover, from googling it! Then I free-handed a fish bowl shape from blue cardstock and cut the middle out. I taped plastic wrap to the back of the opening. Then I cut the same bowl shape from white paper and let them color it. Then we glued our fish onto the white paper and then decorated with glitter(my least favorite thing to use!) and let it dry. Finally, we put the blue bowl on top of the white with tape and WAH-LAH! A fish bowl! It was super fun to do and I highly recommend it!!

On to the next topic of the day and the most important: It's Little A's 3rd birthday!! I can't believe it!! The pic below is from the day we came home from the hospital! He had on a billy band for jaundice, he had a heart murmur and he kept failing his hearing tests! I was so sad for him! Now he is in tip-top shape!

Below is a pic from his first birthday party! He was a little freaked out but once he got a cupcake in him, he mellowed out! =)

This is from his 2nd birthday, which we had a month late because we were moving!! It was fun! He was SSOOO sick though! He just coasted through the day!

Here he is today, a THREE year old!!! I can't believe how much he has blessed our lives!! I am grateful daily to be his mommy!!!

Tomorrow is his party and I am very excited!! I love this little boy and I hope he has the best day EVER!!

P.S. I realized my post from yesterday looks almost EXACTLY like a post from Serving Pink Lemonade! That wasn't my intention but it's an AMAZING blog! Check it out at www.servingpinklemonade.blogspot.com !
Have a great day!

Dr. Seuss Week!!

I am so excited to celebrate Dr. Seuss birthday! It's next Wednesday, March 2. We decided we would start today and celebrate for the entire week!

First on the agenda: Hit the library! And boy, did we hit it! We took almost all of the Seuss books they had! We decided to stop at 8, I think! We figured we could leave a couple for everyone else!

We've decided to read a book each day and do an activity. Today, we read " A Cat in the Hat" and made a hat. This is a pic of Little A with his hat and coloring page that I found at www.seussville.com. Great ideas there!

Here's a pic of M with his hat and coloring page! He's always willing to give mom a smile! =)

Here's a pic of both of the boys! I love them and hope they enjoy Seuss week! It's going to be a wacky week!

On a more serious note: Little A is turning 3 tomorrow!! Saturday is his Toy Story party! To infinity and beyond!!

PINATA!!

Finally, it is done!! The pinata is actually done! I think it's pretty cool! The top is a little large, but not too bad for only making one other pull string pinata before!! It's was a go-along-and-figure-it-out project, but really fun!! The top even opens up so that you can re-use it if you want! I made this pull-string pinata for my nephew, Little B's, birthday party back in December and the kids loved it!! He loves all things Legos , so it was easy to make! (Sorry about the side-ways pic!!)

Well, that's what I have for today!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Birthday Mania!

Birthday mania is definitely kickin' in 'round these parts!! LOVE the Toy Story theme for little A!! Below is a pic of the banner I made from cardboard!! LOVE IT!! All over the walls I hung clouds, just like the one's in Andy's room from the first Toy Story. I also cut out stars and hung them by fishing line ALL over the ceiling. I wanted to bring in some of Andy's room from the 2nd and 3rd Toy Story as well! So far, I LOVE IT!! It's fun to see how cheap you can make decorations. So far, I've only spent about $1.50 for the posterboard for the stars and clouds! I am having more fun than I probably should be!! ;)

I decided with M's birthday back in November that I would celebrate the boy's birthday's for AT LEAST a week!! So, being that little A's birthday is next Friday, I decided to start decorating now! I love the idea and I won't be SO stressed during the week before so I can enjoy it more!!
Anybody have any ideas, PLEASE shoot them my way!! Little A's party is only a week away!! More pics to come soon!

Love these boys!

This is my M! He is an extremely bright 6-year-old boy with a heart of gold. I mean, what kid his age would give up one of his two dollars to help buy cereal?? I don't know why he wanted to give it to me, but that's what he said!! He is a calm, quiet, snuggly boy who doesn't like to see ANYONE cry. He is quite the little fellow!! He is in Kindergarten this year and we are home-schooling him which is turning out SSOOOO amazing! I love this little boy with all of my heart! (Excuse the chapped lips! He has them everyday no matter what we put on them!)

This is little A!! He is an EXTREMELY energetic almost 3 year old boy who is learning his way through things!!! He will climb the TV stand, just to fall on his bum, and he will get up and do it again! I guess it's a learning process, right?? He is also learing how to be kind. I opened a bag of fruit snacks the other day and he ran from me, not saying the usual "thank you". Next thing I hear is him say, "Here, M!" which touched my heart! Then he came back and got one for himself and he did say thank you! He is bright and curious and loves to give pucker-lip kisses!! I love this little boy very much!!

I love my family and wouldn't know what to do without them!! I am grateful for the wonderful blessings that the Lord has given me!! Hope everyone has a great day!

Toy Story Pin the Tail on Bullseye!

On the Disney Family website, they have this adorable printable of Bullseye for a Pin the Tail on Bullseye game! I printed out the four pages, glued it to yellow poster board and cut a wiggly edge with my scissors!! Then I added some of the twine that I used to make the banner to it with hot glue gun (my favorite tool!) and there you have it! I also made several different colored tails for the game out of felt. It's so cute and cheap!! I love cheap!!!

I am having a blast planning little A's party! Hopefully, the pinata will be done soon!! Thanks for stopping by! Definitely check out http://www.disneyfamily.com/ ! They have amazing ideas!!

Homemade Toy Story Birthday Banner

At the end of February, my little A will be 3!!! I can't believe it!! So being the planner that I have to be, I started working on some decorations for the party!! He is a Toy Story fanatic right now!! So, we decided to do the whole Toy Story thing!!

Below is a picture of the banner. It's made out of cardboard. I cut the cardboard in about 5x5 squares, painted them to match mister Woody's clothing and added the letters that were also cut from cardboard. I then added some twine string to the back with hot glue and wa-la!! I love it! And I had everything on hand!! I saw this idea somewhere and for the life of me I can't remember where...please forgive me!!

Don't you love the carpet in the pic??? Oh well! Taking pics is NOT my thing!!

Anyone have any Toy Story ideas they would like to share, please do! I'm always excited to get new ideas!!
Soon I will be posting my toy box, pull-string pinata!! Hopefully soon! :)
